The congregation of Sisters Hospitallers was founded in Madrid in the late nineteenth century by Father Benito Menni, canonised in 1999.

Since its inception, it has been committed to being of great service to socially excluded women with mental health issues who were not getting medical assistance. At present, the congregation provides care services in 24 countries in Europe, America, Asia, and Africa. Its mission consists in offering holistic and medical care.
